What is Ananas fiber?

Ananas fiber – PALF called as Pineapple fiber is extracted from Pineapple leaves—a byproduct of agriculture that is typically discarded or burned in fields after harvesting.

How to process it?

Harvesting Pineapple leaves: After the pineapples have been harvested for food, the pineapple leaves are considered a waste product and are often burned, releasing CO₂ emissions into the atmosphere. We choose the qualified mature leaves to produce Ananas fiber – PALF with the best properties.

Extracting Raw Pineapple fiber: Ecosoi Vietnam has developed successfully the semi-automatic machines and an automated extraction line with their capacity 30%-40% higher than the technology transferred by the project cooperated with Philippines and keep the natural structures of PALF fiber.

Washing and Drying Pineapple fiber: no harmful chemicals during processing

Cottonizing Pineapple fiber: Opening up Pineapple fiber is an extremely important technique to make the quality and uniform structure of PALF fiber. Pineapple fiber has a tensile strength at least 2-3 times higher than other natural fibers, making your products more durable, stronger and long-lasting.

Natural Antibacterial Properties
Thanks to its naturally antibacterial characteristics, pineapple fiber prevents the growth of bacteria and mold—an essential factor for synthetic leather products, apparels especially in automotive and home furnishing applications.

The research shows that at temperature was 45°C and extrication time was 8h. the IZD (inhibitory zone diameter) for E.coli of PALF fibre was measured as 30.15 mm. It means that PALF fibre has good antibacterial activities with Zone Diameter up to 30.15 mm in the optimal condition. The temperature increases above 45°C, IZD decrease.

Breathability and Odor Control
Unlike products made from plastic-based materials, pineapple fiber-based products provide natural breathability, reducing heat and enhancing the comfort to users. Yarns and Fabrics made from Pineapple fiber can eliminate 88% of ammonia smell, 90% of acetic acid odor, and 90% of isovaleric acid odor caused by body odors
